The Path Forward

Our aim is clear: a future where all people in America participate in a flourishing multiracial democracy, prosper in an equitable economy, and live in thriving communities. But what does that future demand of us?

Three critical forces have contributed to where we find ourselves today: a flawed design of our nation, so that it only governs for some; a values system that has perpetuated a hierarchy of human value; and the exclusion of We The People — and specifically, the economically insecure among us — from building and exercising power at the scale necessary to change the rules.

While these conditions are deeply rooted in our nation, they are the byproduct of a series of decisions. We can make new decisions that catalyze a future aimed at a nation that, at last, serves and honors all.

  • We can support a new design of the legal and regulatory framework of the nation so that it governs for all.
  • We can advance a values system and political philosophy that is grounded in love for, and the flourishing of, all.
  • We can work to ensure that We The People — and the economically insecure people in our nation — can build and exercise governing power.

Altogether, these fundamental changes in design, values, and power can enable us to collectively change the material reality for the nearly 100 million people living in or near poverty, so we become a nation where all people can thrive.
