Without warning, HUD has decided effectively to suspend the regulation, leaving local jurisdictions confused, giving local residents less voice in important decisions about their communities, and reinstating an approach to fair housing that the Government Accountability Office found to be ineffective and poorly administered.
PolicyLink, along with Carson Watch partners, national housing justice organizations, Civil Rights organizations, housing advocates are in continual resistance against the assaults to fair housing from this current administration. Concurrently, PolicyLink continues to work across sectors, with a range of allies -- including housing advocates, developers, community leaders, and city officials -- to preserve housing affordability, regulate the private market, involve community stakeholders in all decision-making to provide everyone with access to opportunity.
