Biography

Nisha Dass, Vice President of People and HR, is an equity strategist and leadership executive with nearly 20 years of experience across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. As the Vice President of People and HR at PolicyLink, Nisha strives to bring our culture and values to life in how we recruit, onboard, and engage our team. She specializes in developing and executing strategy, inclusive People practices, leadership development and training, and change management. During her professional tenure, Nisha has managed four organizational turnarounds in culture and performance with double digit gains.

Nisha started her professional career as a teacher and coach then transitioned to the nonprofit sector where she worked at companies like Teach For America and the New York City Department of Education, the country’s largest school system. After a decade in the public and nonprofit sectors, Nisha transitioned to the private sector as the People and Facilities Director at Away, a direct-to-consumer startup, where she supported the company’s hyper growth and international expansion while launching her own consulting firm. Nisha has supported a huge range of clients from international human rights organizations to Black-owned creative production companies and more. Nisha has been featured in Business Insider, Tim Duggan’s Work Backwards, and has previously published works in UC Berkeley’s Student Journal of Public Health

Nisha earned a BA in Public Health and Global Development from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating as valedictorian of her class and is based in New York City. In her free time, she can be found traveling, trying new restaurants with friends, walking through Fort Tryon Park, and training her rescue pup, Saaya.
