Lorrie Chang

Program Associate

Lorrie Chang, Program Associate, works to advance a cultural lens and an integration of arts strategies in development to increase the effectiveness and resiliency of equitable policies and practices. Prior to PolicyLink, she led a community engagement process, spearheading a highly visible storytelling component, with the suburban black community for the Portland African American Leadership Forum People’s Plan -- a plan by and for the people that projects their own vision for a thriving black community to recover from the impacts of displacement, gentrification, and marginalization. In addition, she brings her experience in public transportation and environmental issues from serving as Operations and Grants Coordinator at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency to reduce carbon emissions -- under which San Francisco became the cleanest taxi fleet in the nation. Lorrie holds a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University. In her spare time, she enjoys collecting stories and moments, couch-surfing, hip hop dancing (just don’t ask her to follow any steps), getting lost, TED talks, and asking the question why we do what we do.
